What is MOMS Club of Antioch?

The MOMS Club ® of Antioch, IL is a local chapter of the International MOMS Club, a non-profit support group designed for mothers and their children.  MOMS Club has over 2,000 chapters and more than 100,000 members worldwide. It is a support group for moms who have chosen to stay at home to care for their families or who work part-time — moms who want organized opportunities with a variety of activities and experiences for themselves and their children.  We organize monthly meetings, activities, and an online forum for mothers to communicate and support one another. The MOMS Club also serves the community by supporting and organizing service projects which benefit the children of our communities.

The MOMS club is a wonderful way to meet other mothers who share your interests and concerns.  Staying at home does not have to feel isolating.  Learn about the great things happening in the MOMS Club today.  New members are always welcomed.

How did MOMS Club begin?

MOMS Club® was started in the fall of 1983 by our founder Mary B. James, when she, as a Stay-At-Home-Mom in California, decided she was tired of being alone at home. She wanted to meet other SAHM's and she wanted to find other SAHChildren for her children to play with. When she discovered there were no other organizations that met during the day and allowed her to come with her baby and preschooler, she decided to start a brand new organization just for SAHMs. MOMS Club was born. The first local chapter was MOMS Club of Simi Valley, CA. Word spread about the wonderful support that MOMS Club offered Stay-At-Home-Moms and we became a National organization in 1985 - and an International organization in 1996.

What are the principles of MOMS Club?

  • Women must be free to choose their personal path to fulfillment.
  • For women who choose it, raising children is an important and fulfilling full-time job.
  • That a family's decision for a mother to stay at home to raise the children often involves considerable financial sacrifices.
  • There is no one right way to raise children, but our members have a common concern in raising their children in a healthful way.
